Beatitude based resources from a Lutheran perspective.

THE CROSSTIES OF THE BEATITUDES

CROSSTIES LUTHERAN MINISTRY RESOURCES, INC.

In CrossTies' use of the Beatitudes found in Matthew 5:3-10, we regularly present the following diagram to help people visualize the Gospel message within those Beatitudes:

As you look at the above graphic depiction of the Gospel, we hope that you first see that everything is flowing into the Cross. The obstacle of rocks is to depict the struggles we encounter in our lives in Christ during our time here on earth. As you look at the two rails of the track, note that the rail on the right is straight. It depicts God's plan and purpose for us as we are to walk in the way of His righteousness. However, since we are forgiven sinful beings, our way is the way of sinner and saint. That bent way is represented by the left rail.

The Beatitudes serve as the CrossTies of the track, bending, pulling, and securing the bent rail to the rail of Christ.

The diagram below shows a representation of the Beatitudes, sequenced as given by Christ, and related to the concepts of psychology that reflect the maturation and relational aspects of human beings.

It remains a source of amazement and awe that what man discovers through his natural knowledge and attempts to instill using the Law, can only be truly understood, enjoyed and offered to others through the Gospel!
