The Fruit of the Spirit of the Local Congregation revised 2013
The Fruit of the Spirit of the Local Congregation revised 2013
The following Lesson Plan entitled "The Fruit of the Spirit of the Local Congregation" is an examination of Galatians 5:22,23 asking how the listed facets of the Fruit of the Spirit apply to a congregation as a singular body. Each facet is an examination of the original Greek word translated into the English that most of us use in Bible Study. The questions at the end of each facet's discussion are only intended to be examples of the questions that can be asked about the spiritual life of the congregation. The underlying assumption to these Lessons is that perhaps we would be better served by looking at the Scriptures for assessment tools rather than first going to the assessments, surveys, polls and inventories being marketed to our congregations. These Lessons were used in a Adult Bible Study at Zion Lutheran Church, Tomball, Texas on
Wednesday evenings in 2013. Often times, a single Lesson took more than one week to cover.
